There are many people in huts and villages in Zambia and half the globe is struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them because it is the right thing to do. If a free community cannot help the many who are poor, our conscious is held captive. One of the marvellous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals. When we pool our strength and share the work and responsibility, we can help many people, even those in deep distress, and perhaps help them find self-confidence and inner healing. Yes it requires great effort to convert our good words into good deeds and cast off the chains of poverty.
The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavour will shine through and elevate our community and together we can do our part to eradicate poverty and suffering as well as encourage the arts and commerce. In OZALIWA, we have a great platform to carry out good deeds if we choose. Community spirit is our choice. We can make a difference. They say life is full of possibilities. Unless something unfortunate happens to greatly reduce those possibilities. Even then, those remaining possibilities shrink; unfamiliar circumstances have a sinister way of preventing even ordinary dreams coming true.
Thanks to the support of generous donors, Ozaliwa community members and the rest of our community in Zambia can realise some of their own dreams – some of life’s possibilities.
It might be something small, like one special meal a year on Christmas day, or something large like providing clean drinking water to an entire community by providing a Bore Hole, or something seemingly impossible, like sponsoring an intelligent student’s entire university course fees.
